With Aliki and Maurice on Rimpfischsattel, 4009m
The glacier walk was easy. In less than an hour we arrived at a point, where the trail splits. Most of people were going to the Alphubel but we saw a couple of parties ahead of us going to Rimpfischhorn. After a brief discussion it was decided that we follow our original plan. The weather seemed good and Rimpfischhorn summit looked beautiful and inviting in the early morning sun.

Soon after we had to descend about 150 meters to reach another glacier called Mellichgletscher which would eventually lead us to a col. (You can see this glacier in a photo from another slide show). We arrived there after 11 a.m. after a very long walk (almost 7 hours from the hut). This picture was taken on Rimpfischsattel. The summit was only 190 vertical meters above us, maybe 150 of which involved some rock climbing that, according to our Alpine guide, was of some moderate difficulty.
